Hi there fellow Akita enthusiasts. Greetings from Oulu, Finland. To clear things up, I would like to share my side of the mess with you all.
It is not my intention to be rude nor difficult, but I can't help but feel cheated. I thought I was buying a male that could be used for show and breeding, but unfortunately when I received the puppy, I noticed that he has underbite. Even though he has a lovely personality, I cannot use him for show nor breeding because of this fault. This fault was never mentioned, on the contrary he was described as very promising for both show and breeding, and in the end I was charged too much for a pet quality dog. Mistakes happen, I understand, but it would only be fair to get a refund, if the seller, Nadezda Rubtsova, is being honest with me.
I would have sent the puppy back, but the driver who brought the dogs to Finland called Rubtsova and then refused to take him back to Moscow, therefore I had to take the pup with me. By the time Rubtsova informed me she could, afterall, take the puppy back, it was too late - we were too far away from Helsinki, heading back home.
I would send the puppy back if full price+travel expenses would be refunded, or I could settle for keeping the pup for 200 euros, and getting the rest of my money back. Problem is, Rubtsova tells me she never received my payment. According to her the money is jammed in Germany, although my bank told me it is not so. We are trying yo figure out where the money is.
As a breeder I am committed to this breed, and I want to produce the best quality. I would never lie to people who want to buy a puppy from me. This mess is taking much of my time and effort, all because the puppy isn't what was promised. I am very sad that things like this happen among Akita breeders. We should work together. That is why I wish Nadezda Rubtsova would take responsibility and handle this with respect for me, and for the breed, thank you.
